Working in online PR

The social media agency sector is one of the most exciting and fastest growing industries in the UK and worldwide. Although still relatively young, the opportunities in online PR for enthusiastic, creative and hard-working companies and individuals are clear for all to see.

Liberate Media is a new breed of PR and social media agency. We launched in 2006 and since then have been working closely with the social media industry to build and execute communications campaigns, and help drive innovation forward.

Life at Liberate Media

Agency life, particularly within the PR industry, can sometimes be restrictive and slow moving.

At Liberate Media we’ve taken a very different and more nimble approach. The consultancy is formed of a collection of senior-level individuals, who each have their own areas of specialty and passions, but work together as a cohesive unit. We have a virtual set-up to suit the environment in which we work, and an entrepreneurial spirit, which means we spot opportunities quickly, work hard and also benefit from exceptional job satisfaction.

As we are not a traditional agency, we’re not confined by traditional agency rules. You won’t have trainees to delegate to at Liberate as each of us has a role to fulfil and we each want to be at the coalface talking strategy but then going out and delivering it.

We also don’t just want PR people, although they are very welcome. We have consultants with backgrounds in journalism, social media, web development and PR, and find that this combination of experience allows us to consult effectively across the board on our campaigns that call on our full range of skills.

We strongly believe that each consultant’s role is what they make of it. If you have an idea, we’ll support you to make it happen – enthusiasm, ideas and a will to ‘make it happen’ go a long way at Liberate Media. We work as a true partner to our clients, becoming deeply involved in the communications strategies of each and looking at our client contacts more as colleagues.

We want our people to stay with us for a long time, and so we do everything within our power to make this organisation an exciting and rewarding place to work.

“I’ve always been delighted with Liberate’s ability to take the time to understand what we do, their ability to communicate our message over diverse geographic markets and customer locations, as well as developing new and interesting ways of engaging with our customers via social media.”
