The Management Team

The Liberate Media team brings together senior experts in PR, journalism, social media and web development, from a variety of industry sectors. Our consultants are experienced at helping brands to reach and connect with their audiences through a creative fusion of traditional and social media PR techniques.

Our key people include:

Director and Founder: Wendy McAuliffe

Wendy has been working within the internet industry since 1999, and was there to see the dotcom boom and bust. She began her journalist career at ZDNet, the UK’s leading online technology newswire, when the internet as a news source was still in its infancy. She then went on to become technology editor of New Media Age magazine, where she established herself as a key reporter within the digital media industry.

Few journalists manage to make a successful leap into PR, but Wendy made that transition in 2003, following a desire to consult with businesses in the digital space, and never looked back.  As a consequence she has a rare insight and understanding of the complexity that underpins how, and why, people communicate. Appreciating these fundamentals is crucial to advising brands and businesses on how to make a success of the social web.

Wendy co-founded Liberate Media with Lloyd Gofton in 2006.

"I have a lot of respect for Liberate Media as they know exactly how a
relationship should be between a PR and journalist. Wendy's journalist
background obviously helps, and they both have a really good understanding
of news and what a journalist needs to do their job effectively. I tell all
of my reporters to take their calls, and their good reputation extends far
beyond NMA."

Justin Pearse, editor, New Media Age
